Just found this link about the new digital voice/data ham radio system
Icom is developing.

It's called D-Star. Looks neat. Here's a link to a 4-page prospectus in

p.s.--Had fun today at my first public service event, the MS Walk, but
for those of you who heard me asking for rotation from my station
because it was so cold and windy, when I got home (still cold) I took my
temp, and it had dropped to about 97 degrees. Yow. Core temp almost back
to normal now though--will dress much warmer next time, and ignore local
weather people. Thanks Bob, and other sage ones, for organizing
everything so well.
