That's okay. Let each of us develop our own email policies and
procedures. For instance, if I receive Forwarded email, my response varies.
I look at the "From:" line and the "Subject:" line and then decide:
1. Do I immediately delete the message without opening and reading it?
2. Do I open, read and then delete the message?
3. Do I open, read and then save the message in my email files?

Another one of my policies is NOT TO OPEN any Attachments,
regardless of whose name appears on the "From:" line. It is my
understanding that there are viruses, worms, trojan horses, etc. that could
get into my email address book, steal a bunch of addresses and send the
infected email to others with MY name on the "From:" line. My best
defense to prevent that from happening is to delete any Attachments that
arrive in my incoming email. That's just my policy, others are free to have
their own email policies.

In this particular instance, I chose to Forward "mras_general]
Digest Number 134" to barc-list because some barc-list subscribers may not
be subscribers to
"[email protected]." I personally felt
that the posting of Michael P. Neilsen, W1MPN, should be given wider
distribution to hams in the ARRL EMA Section.
I did not alter the "From:" line of W1MPN's posting or add any
additional comment of my own as I felt that it would only take attention
away from his heartfelt message recognizing and thanking the hams who
responded in many helpful ways to the 911 tragedy.
