Here is some information on a special event station that my radio club is
sponsoring. I hope that some of you are interested in pursuing this. The
QSL card is *really* nice, and includes the official Iditarod logo.

Greetings From Alaska,
If you have access to the March issue of QST, page
103 (under Special Events), our event is centered out
of Wasilla Alaska (@42 miles NNW from Anchorage). The
"ceremonial start" to "the last great race on earth"
is in Anchorage, but the actual competitive race of
"Iditarod" begins in Wasilla on 3 March, from there
the 1,049 mile event begins in earnest.
Real-time minute-to-minute race updates can be
accessed (directly), from: www.Iditarod.com ..
The frequencies we'll be targeting are; 1.925,
3.945, 7.290, 14.246, 18.150, 21.315, 24.945, and
28.460 phone. We will also have operators on 6
meters, dedicated operators on CW Novice/General bands
and PSK-31. Time will be taken to answer your "event
related" questions, where possible. Every effort will
be made to reach the widest possible Amateur audience,
worldwide! Please feel free to reprint this locally.
Make sure your QSL submission(s) has/have the "key
code(s)" on it/them (which you will receive from each
event operator), as this will aid in the QSO
verification process. An "event" certificate is also
being offered to Amateurs who successfully QSO on
three or more bands or modes. Please; all submissions
must have SASE's! Good luck,73, and good hunting.
