A follow-up for you:

That was your transceiver and my PC and interface.  (Just make the
association "strawberries == digital modes". :-) )  At least next time
we'll know how to set up and tune the rig quickly, but it was good
experience and yielded a nice number of contacts!

(I couldn't believe that, either, and I was sitting next to him a lot of
the time!!)

One minor issue popped up for me:  a minor RF burn from unshielded and
ungrounded equipment.  We really need to include a passable RF ground for
equipment.  Besides, I've found that my radio gains about 10 dB of
sensitivity if I ground it;  think what that means for more contacts! :-)
