True.
WHO WANTS TO SIGN UP TO OPERATE SOME VHF in advance? I have NUWireless
recorded for a couple seats.
WHO is bringing 115v/12v 2m table/mobil mounts? With all the Skywarn/ARES
frequencies to monitor, we need more than usual for the info/CP/ARES post in
addition to the contest post.

If we want to just pounce, one free is enough. If we want to call CQ, we need
one per.

706 and similar rigs are good backups for both VHF+ and HF stations, but not
primaries.

My comments on a separate email on VHF capabilities were:
Our "free" VHF FD station was on 6m SSB fairly
regularly if lazily last year, with just a little 2m SSB, some 2m FM, a very
little 440 FM and no joy on 1.2G FM but I called once. Never got on 220FM, by
the time I'd fixed the antenna, the finals were toast ;-( New finals being
installed RIGHT NOW by my buddy Steve.
This year we'll be on 2m and 6m SSB/CW, 440 SSB if I can borrow/build a
horizontal antenna in time. We hope to be on 1.2GFM and 10G WFM & SSB, maybe
CW in SSB subband; and 220FM and maybe SSB/CW (need antenna). We haven't
decided yet -- I'm pushing -- for how many transmitters/seats we'll commit to
VHF+. We've got real VHF/UHF raidos, not just antiques and 706's this year.
I've got a couple operators from NU ARC voluteered to work VHF+, so we may be
on VHF/UHF seriously this year. May have some packet too, not sure.
Now (after I went to a hamefest) we have a TR-736 for 6/2/440 ssb/cw/fm; an
IC-502 (w/ amp?), IC-211 as 2nd tier SSB/CW; allmode scanner for monitoring;
both above IC38A and TM-3530 for 220FM; and NU ARC is bringing a 220 SSB/CW,
not sure what kind. May have serious amp for 2m FM or SSB, but not sure I
want to run that much power if I can't get a taller mast. (Hmm, can't use the
250W amp and stay in the 150W class, not sure if we can keep it to 149 by
turning down drive? The 150W amp was busted?) The 706's will be backups for
both HF and VHF+. The TM-742 is good for 440/1.2FM, my Standard HT-642 is the
backup -- may use it for 1.2G SOLAR contacts ;-) The stacked 2m/2m/6m halos
in pix will return. More vhf yagis coming, if we can turn 'em.
I'll see if I can organize this a bit better.
Sadly I'll be tied up with family this weekend so I won't be able to
test the station on VHF contest weekend.
> + Satellite *** NEEDED ***
If the AMSAT az-el super-station decides to come again, great. If not, Leo's
Arrow or KA1MOM's crossed-Moxon's with any of the cross-band HT's or 736 or
Dc-daylight rigs should be able to bag us one Voice contacct for bonus. 736 is
built for it, but with luck, a cross-band FM rig with a couple of crossband
memories can do it.
