You can click on the URL below and read it from the source but it looks like
CW isn't as dead as it first appeared to be.
Leave it to these guys to find a way to resurrect CW.
My only question is if all the guys at sea are now off LF and CW then who
are they sending to? Must be there are still some ship to ship or ship to
shore stuff still using CW in the world. There are still stations using it
in the 8 Mhz range that I can hear. My understanding is that Special Forces
Folks are still being taught CW so it isn't as dead as we were lead to
believe.
I just thought it was interesting. Sort of makes me feel better to know it
still has a place in this day and age.
Check out the work these guys did at KPH in California. There was an article
in QST about them in the past.

"FCC Grants New US CW Coast Station License!
The FCC has granted a license for a new, common carrier, class 1A CW coast
station to the Maritime Radio Historical Society (MRHS).
The MRHS applied for the license to assure that US commercial Morse
operations will continue into the future. We believe this must be the first
time in many years that the FCC has granted a new license for this service.
The hours of operation for the station have not yet been determined. But the
basic details are:
Call: KSM
Frequencies: 426, 500, 6474 and 12993kc
Power: 5kW all frequencies"
