[Azham] Antenna Construction, etc. An Opportunity?

Hi Brian:
I saw your post on azham. This is only somewhat related, since I am not a
ham, but I am on the azham list to keep up with hamfest info etc. I am
located in NE Mesa (Power/Brown).
I am the moderator for the greenkeys list at qth.net, which, if I recall
correctly, you previously did.
Anyway, I am an electrical engineer, and I collect tty machines, which is
why I am into greenkeys. I have not really gotten into the rtty side of
things too much. I have an HF tranceiver (with which I can only receive,
of course), and with a random-length wire antenna on the roof I have poked
around looking for rtty signals. Not a lot of activity out there that I
can receive, but it is kinda fun. One of these days I may go for my ham
license, but I have too much on my plate at the moment.
The greenkeys folks periodically try to get more rtty activity going using
real machines, but it never seems to take off much. This is partly due to
there being only about 280 folks on greenkeys, and even less that have rtty
equipment.
One cool thing lately is an rtty audio stream that a fellow is sending over
the internet, with news feed items. We can "receive" it using winamp or
media player on a pc, and get clean fade-free audio. I take the audio from
the pc, feed it to my Dovetron TU, then into a tty connection box that I
designed, and then drive my M15 or M33. Not exactly rtty, but fun anyway
-- it's nice to just have a decent "signal."
Anyway, thought I would touch base with you, especially since you are in
the area. Where exactly is your antenna farm property located? Looks like
you have quite a nice setup there.
If you are interested, you can see my (still quite incomplete) tty stuff at:
