Received from ARRL this morning .....
" The ARRL would be more than happy to assist you with your Amateur radio
license renewal!
While the ARRL no longer has the ability to automatically renews licenses,
we can assist applicants in submitting a renewal request to the FCC to begin
the renewal process.
This link will lead you to a webpage version of the updated NCVEC 605 form
for the renewal of your license:
https://www.arrl.org/ncvec-form-605
Once you have finished in the required fields, click on the submit button so
your application is sent back to us. Once we receive your application we
will then submit it to the FCC for you.
However, there are additional steps now required by the FCC for you to renew
your license.
There is now a $35 application fee that applies for new licenses, renewals,
and modifications that request a new vanity call sign.
After we submit your application to the FCC and they receive your
application from us, The FCC will then email you a link with payment
instructions to renew your Ham license. You will have 10 calendar days, from
the date of the application file number being issued, to pay. You will need
to pay the $35 application fee by using the CORES Registration system (CORES
- Login).
After you send the renewal application back to me I will send you a follow
up email with detailed instructions on making the payment.
**In the event you do not receive an email from the FCC with payment
instructions, or you want to pay prior to receiving the email, you can find
instructions on how to do so here: FCC Application Fee Instructions
If you get stuck along the way with this process I can try to assist you
with the payment part over the phone.
Sincerely,
Lisa Riendeau
VEC Service Representative
