I'm sad to pass on the following forward of a Facebook
message posted by John Guida, K5XA (formerly NJ1V)
that I received today from Jerry Boyd, WR5G that details
the passing of John's beloved wife Ruthie, N5RJM. Ruthie
was much admired and loved by so many of the Oklahoma
City ham radio community when she and John lived here.

Jerry's forward of John's Facebook posting follows.

John remains the trustee of NJ1V, Sons of Sicily Contest Club.

R.I.P., dear Ruthie!

Hi, Mac. It was really great to see you at Dayton this year…. John Guida just posted this on his FaceBook page today and I wanted to share this news with you as well… _______________________________________________________________________
I have been somewhat silent on Facebook for the last several days, but I now want to share this note with our family and friends. I'm very sad to tell all of you that two days ago we lost Ruthie to the devastating cancer that she bravely battled for the past eight years. However, typical of Ruthie as I'm sure you will remember her, she stayed positive to the end. Throughout her last days, we were blessed by the presence of Ruthie's daughter from Connecticut, and our children and grandchildren who came to Kerrville to help with the care of their beloved Ruthie, and their Papa (proudly that's me!). And not at all a surprise, Ruthie maintained her love and concern for family and friends, as well as her unique sense of humor, to the very end. That was my Lady!!!! Due to a family medical issue, we are postponing Ruthie's memorial service until sometime in mid-October. We'll make sure to send out notification to you in plenty of time for you to plan to attend if you would like to do so.. In closing, thank all of you for always being there for us, but especially for her. Ruthie loved all of you so much, as I do as well. God Bless all of you.
John Guida
