Amateur Radio Emergency Service-Oklahoma(ARES-OK) will conduct it’s annual training exercise on Saturday December 14, 2013.
The purpose of the exercise is to find out the strengths and weaknesses of; ARES-OK, National Traffic System (NTS), and other radio amateur groups in providing emergency communications here in Oklahoma.
The exercise also provides a demonstration - to served agencies, emergency management agencies and through the news media - to the public of the value that Amateur Radio provides, particularly in time of need.
The exercise will help radio amateurs gain experience in communications using standard procedures and a variety of modes under simulated-emergency conditions.
