As you know this week there were devastating Tornadoes on Sunday in and near the City of Shawnee and in Lincoln County and then on Monday in the City of Moore and Oklahoma City Metro area.
The scale of the Moore/Oklahoma City Tornado has diverted some of the attention away from those effected by storms on Sunday in Pott. and Lincoln counties.
There IS help in Pott. and Lincoln counties from several sources:
From a faith based group: the Cornerstone of Jesus Christ church has set up in front of Old Navy store in the parking lot of the Shawnee Mall with tons of donated supplies of all types, food, water, clothing, clean-up supplies, etc. They say they’ll be there 24 hours a day as long as there is a need.
The Red Cross has opened a Shawnee resource center for the Shawnee/Bethel Acres storms is located at Gordon Cooper Technology Center (Skylabs and dining facility), at 1 John C Bruton Blvd. Shawnee. Hours for the center will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Resources that were previously housed at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center are now at the Gordon Cooper facility. Red Cross resource centers also are open at the Carney High School and the Little Axe School for those affected by tornadoes.
The word of this help is not getting out. If you are in Pott. and Lincoln counties please make know of these resources and please feel free to share this info.
