Background: 
Oklahomais a well practiced state in disaster response. The communication 
infrastructure in the major metro areas are very robust and is designed 
to expand and recover quickly.  Rural Oklahoma is more of a challenge.
 
This Tornado disaster occurred in suburb of the Oklahoma City Metroplex.
 
The EMCOMM mission ARES-OK was tasked to support was to provide voice 
communications (via local 2 meter repeater) from the American Red Cross 
Oklahoma City Chapter HQ to their feeding station at the Incident 
Command Post located 12 miles to the south in Moore , OK .

Special thanks to Tom Webb WA9AFM/5 Oklahoma Section ASM for stepping up to head up and lead this EMCOMM mission in the wake of this deadly tornado in Moore.

The American Red Cross in Oklahoma City , Oklahoma has requested communications support from Amateru Radio.  
Scope:
Provide voice communications between TWO (2) locations:
ARC OKC Chapter HQ 
Located at 601 SW 6th St , Oklahoma City , OK
And 
The ARC team at the Incident Command Post (ICP)
Located at Home Depot parking lot 650 SW 19th St , Moore , OK 
 
Voice communications can be via simplex or any available repeater (with permission of repeater owner(s)).
 
Initial team will need to set up base operations at ARC HQ and access how best to serve ARC team at the ICP.
 
Duration will be at the direction of ARES-OK Leadership and the ARC  HQ – most likely when “normal” communications return to the area. 
 
Operational Period:
0800 Local to 2400 Local (at the direction of ARC POC) 
NOTE: Should be covered in 2 person per location in shifts of 2 to no longer than 4 hours if all possible.  
 
All volunteers must sign in and out with ARC HQ. 
Log all traffic on ICS-309 form. 
Use ICS-213 for all formal messages.
 
What to bring?
ARES Deployment Vest (Don’t have one?  (Borrow one from a friend – well work on get a loaner vest or two.)
Suitable clothing and work boots for being in a disaster area. 
Day one bag – always a good idea.

ARES ID – don’t have one – don’t panic – make sure you are registered on-line @ www.ARESOK.org 
Amateur Radio License
