It is with sorrow that I share news of the death of OHP Captain Pete Norwood.
If you were one of the 80 Amateur Radio volunteers who were at Camp Gruber to assist with communications supporting the agencies helping the Hurricane
Katrina evacuees - you will remember Capt. Norwood in his work with the evacuees. This very tall and very professional Trooper was a big help to this and other disaster responses in Oklahoma. Capt. Norwood will be greatly missed.
Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

It is with tremendous sadness the Department of Public Safety announces the death of Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain Rodrick "Pete" Norwood. Captain Norwood, an 18 year veteran of the OHP, died of a sudden illness this date, March 30th, 2013, at an Oklahoma City area Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending.
