Please check with them to ensure that you have downloaded ALL the documents for the 2013 ARES-Oklahoma Simulated Emergency Test Exercise Plan and WILL be participating in the Exercise.

A very important part of this exercise is REPORTING at the end of the SET VIA ARES-OK Statewide HF Net – see schedule in EX Plan.  Local ARES-OK teams need to find a way to accomplish this key task (just like in a actual communications emergency – if you don’t have the right equipment, find someone that does).

With-out reporting... there is no documentation that the team participated.

Below is a copy of the e-mail sent to all ARES-OK leaders, as well as sent out on the ARES-Oklahoma Yahoo group and ARRL Oklahoma Section e-mail reflector.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Amateur Radio Emergency Service-Oklahoma(ARES-OK) will conduct it’s annual training exercise on Saturday December 14, 2013.

The purpose of the exercise is to find out the strengths and weaknesses of; ARES-OK, National Traffic System (NTS), and other radio amateur groups in providing emergency communications here in Oklahoma .

The exercise also provides a demonstration - to served agencies, emergency management agencies and through the news media - to the public of the value that Amateur Radio provides, particularly in time of need.

The exercise will help radio amateurs gain experience in communications using standard procedures and a variety of modes under simulated-emergency conditions.
