Wal-Mart has offered a 3 cent/gallon discount for many years
when you purchase with one of those cards. It has amounted to
less than a 1% discount since fuel prices went over $3/gallon.
The new 10 cent discount amounts to approximately a 3%
discount with current gasoline prices; less than that for
Diesel fuel.

If you already HAVE one of those cards and W-M is on your normal
travel route, it's probably okay. You still need to consider the
fuel cost per mile on your vehicle to decide whether you will
actually save ANY money by going out of your way to "save" money.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) ”Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is cutting gas prices by 10 cents a gallon for three months."

The world's biggest retailer says customers visiting participating
Murphy USA and Walmart gas stations from Wednesday through Sept. 30
will receive the discount on all fuel, gas and diesel purchases when
they use a reloadable Walmart gift card, Walmart MoneyCard or a
Walmart credit card.

Gas prices neared $4 a gallon in late April and early May, but have
since fallen to an average of $3.36 per gallon in the Tulsa area.
