I'm sure there are more effective ways to encourage the list to stay on topic, not to mention the irony of contributing to the further decrease in S/N. There is a link at the bottom of every message to manage your subscription to the list, in case you didn't see it.

Alternatively, I notice you're using Gmail... how about just muting the thread?
