[ARRL-OK] Putting a new club together

That is too bad.. Personal experience tells me that an amateur hobby is what
you make of it. If you feel like your any less of a ham operator then
anyone else, then that is your fault. If you feel like doing something
about it and nobody is encouraging you then it's all ya'll fault.

Life is too short, make it fun.. If you don't have any fun in ham radio then
don't do it!

The ARRL does it's very best to encourage operators to do well, and have
fun. It sounds to me like you've turned off the best mentor that you have
had.

There is no rank structure to ham radio, just an increased in privileges.

Wish you felt differently..

I am no longer an ARRl member.
After becoming a Tech I found it impossible to find a mentor.
An Emcomm trailer, 2 meter, a 6 meter, GMRS radios as well a lot of
other equipment and potential are idle.
My problem was the the attitude of Hams toward techs.

Please share your knowledge and experience with new Techs one-on-one
face-to-face basis. It means a lot not only to the Tech but the future
of amateur radio. This privilege is currently for high school students
and Boy Scouts which is good but Techs could benefit too.

All the best,
Josee Dunn, KF5AWW
