[ARRL-OK] House Approves DTV Delay

I've been following discussion on the Audio Video Science Forum since
the delay was first requested last month.  The relevant thread is here:

Some estimates by forum members are that upwards of 80% of stations
will transition by the 18th regardless (unless the final bill prohibits
stations from shutting down analog which earlier versions permitted). 
A number of broadcasting companies have already filed to terminate
analog by the 17th.  A good list is at:

With the passage of this legislation things could get rather confusing
in some markets.  I suspect that if the FCC rescinds permission to shut
down analog operations within the next week that some cash-strapped
operators may have a sudden terminal failure in their analog
transmitter.  :-)
