Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is providing communications support
for the Annual Dam J.A.M. Bicycle Tour.
The event will be here very soon - Saturday, September 8, 2007.
DAM J.A.M. is Oklahoma's most scenic one-day bicycle tour. A fabulous
family event, featuring fun rides of 30, 55, 71, or 101 miles in
Oklahoma's Green Country in beautiful Mayes and Delaware Counties lake
country.
This will be a great ECOMM & ARES training opportunity!
The event begins at Whitaker Park in Pryor on Saturday morning.
The race will be all day, so, relief operators will be needed.
Communications will consist of a net control at the start/finish line in
Pryor at Whitaker Park and will be at each of the rest stops (and a few
other key locations).
All communication locations will be fixed stations. Communications
volunteers will NOT be working as SAG vehicles.
We need about 12 to 15 operators for this project, and it would be very
useful for planning if we could have all our positions filled before this
weekend.
