"Hello...."

It's finally kicked off....the much anticipated "Hello" campaign from
ARRL is up and running. This is the largest PR campaign ever attempted
by the ARRL and we need everyone's help if it is to work. In the April
QST which should start hitting your mailboxes about now is a pull out 4
page brochure titled "Hello..." this brochure is designed for non-hams.
If everyone would PLEASE tear it out and leave it someplace a non-ham
will pick it up...Break room at work, doctors office, school library,
school science classes, etc.

In addition to the brochure, a new website is active as of
today......www.hello-radio.com......this is a very simple website that
is geared to navigate an interested individual to the resources they
need to make contacts and ultimately get licensed. Please pass this on
to anyone that asks about ham radio info.

There are also bumper stickers and buttons available, you can see an
example of the bumper sticker on the league website. There are radio
PSA's available from headquarters to run in local markets, plus in
about 2 weeks, there will be available a 30 second television PSA on
Hello.

This effort won't work without the help of everyone. The league and
the PR committee are working to provide the tools to make this happen,
but it is the individual clubs and hams around the country that will
give it life. So, please so what you can to help. And the first thing
is to tear out the brochure from the April QST and place it in some
location that a non-ham will find it. Thank You in advance on behalf
of the ARRL PR Comittee.
