The only problem I see with this is that most FRS radios have a range
{realistically} of less than a quarter mile. This program will give some
unsuspecting user unrealistic expectations. I really don't care what the advertisement
say (5 mile range) Is this going to turn into another CB Channel 9 and have
REACT turn into the FRS storm troopers
I have been saying for a long time that the ARRL needs to promote Amateur
Radio as an excellent way for family to communicate in any situation whether it
be during an emergency or to tell the old man to stop and pick-up a loaf of
bread.
It is all in the way Amateur Radio is marketed and I feel there is another
"market" that needs attention.
