[ARRL-OK] Amber Alerts

Since when does an Amber Alert apply only to one ZIP Code?

Silly me. All along I had thought that the purpose of these
was to ensure fastest and widest dissemination of the info.

https://www.wirelessamberalerts.org/index.jsp is your site for getting Amber
Alerts.

You can subscribe to get only those Alerts that are issued for your Zip
Code.

For those who have not gravitated to cellular text messaging,
http://www.amberalert.com/?ResetZip=Yes is your site.

I use it because I don't expect the lists I monitor go get cluttered with
Amber Alerts for areas that don't impact me (assuming LEO issues the Amber
Alert properly). Since Amber Alerts are automatically issued widely on TV,
Radio, email, and now, Text Messaging, there is little need to add them to
any list not devoted to Amber Alerts.
