Amateur radio operators enhance their communities.

This event is presented by the Green Country Hamfest Inc., a 501(c)3

Scholarship, with the assistance of many Green Country area amateur radio
clubs. In addition to being a convention for education and information the
Green Country Hamfest is also a fund raiser for the Green Country Hamfest
Scholarship fund.

The Green Country Hamfest Scholarship, established in 1993 by the Green
Country Hamfest Inc. is awarded annually. The scholarship is in memory of
William Moore, KF5DL an avid amateur radio operator who contributed so
much during his lifetime to the teaching and promotion of the amateur
radio hobby. The scholarship is intended exclusively for educational use
to provide assistance with the costs of tuition, books, room, board, and
associated fees essential to the advanced education of the recipient.

For a number of years, the Green Country Hamfest has been affiliated with
the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). This will be the third time that
the ARRL has selected the Green Country Hamfest to host the ARRL Oklahoma
Section Convention. The ARRL is our nation’s not-for-profit organization
that promotes interest in amateur radio communications and
experimentation, represents U.S. radio amateurs in legislative matters,
and maintains fraternalism and a high standard of conduct among amateur
radio operators.
