Some good news on BPL for a change ............................

*** The Nebraska State Legislature has passed a bill banning "agencies, 
political subdivisions and public power suppliers" from implementing BPL 
in that State.  The bill was supposed to be signed by Nebraska's 
governor.   Texas attempted to passed similar legislation, but it failed 
to reach the House.   It did receive support from their Senate, but the 
House failed to act.

*** Motorola BPL technology is looking good!  It is known as Powerline 
LV and has been designed from the beginning with "radio interference 
concerns in mind".  This technology utilizes broadband signals only on 
the low voltage side of transformers.    Although not yet implemented 
into a field operation, ARRL says that "we look forward to a system that 
is not a problem"
