The Tulsa Repeater Organization (TRO) will present an amateur radio
Technicians License-preparation class. The 4 week class will meet Tuesday
and Thursday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m. beginning February 15, 2005. At
the end of the class students will be ready to take the FCC exam and
become a ham radio operator. The class will take place at The American Red
Cross Tulsa Chapter, 10151 E. 11th St, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The ham radio license classes are open to all interested members of the
public.

There will be small fee for the class that covers all hand-out information
of $10.00 and there is a $14.00 testing fee charged for the FCC
test.

Your contact and instructor will be Joe Iverson KD5KKZ e-mail
kd5kkz at arrl.net or call (918) 744-1760. Joe is a member of the TRO
Board, a volunteer with the Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency's
Emergency Response Team, and professionally he is a dispatcher in the
Tulsa 911 center. There will also be others from TRO to assist Joe as the
class progresses.  About 20 students is the max number for this class,
please contact Joe to register fot this class or with you list of names of
the students.

This year's Green Country Hamfest to host ARRL Oklahoma Section
Convention. This is a fun and educational event for Amateur Radio
Operators, electronics radio, communication hobbyist, interested members
of the public and their families.

WHEN: Fri. March 18, 2005, 5 - 9 p.m., & Sat. March 19, 2005, 8 am - 5 p.m.

The annual Green Country Hamfest will host the ARRL Oklahoma Section
Convention. This is the largest gathering of amateurs radio operators in
Okla. Hams will be attending from all over Oklahoma and the surrounding
states. The Claremore Expo Center in the heart of Will Rogers country is an
ideal location for this convention with free parking, ample space for the
many displays, vendors/dealers, and education forums. The Green Country
Hamfest is open to all amateur radio operators, interested members of the
public and their families.

This is a great opportunity for hams and interested parties to learn more
about this exciting hobby and valuable asset to our communities; during
emergencies. This event is presented by the Green Country Hamfest, Inc., a
501C3 non-profit corporation, and sponsor of the Green Country Hamfest
Scholarship.
