"Inasmuch as your point might be that members of ARES, RACES, MARS,
or whatever really deserve a little better right in the eyes of the
law to have good antennas than the rest of us, I think you are a
serious danger to amateur radio, and I will oppose your efforts to
promote that sort of policy any way I can, and I hope others will,
too, for *everyone's* sake. That's really the only important point
I'm trying to make."

Well, this IS an ARRL medium. The League exists to support ALL hams,
regardless of their interest.

While you are certainly within your right to oppose anything I do, IMO,
it is the League that probably will put together a response to this
issue.

I am saddened to read that you see me as a danger to amateur radio.
I've been a ham for over 30 years. I've seen the good, bad, and ugly in
and out of our hobby. I try not to replicate anything bad for OUR
hobby, not yours, not mine, OURS. I have friends who work only code,
satellite, FM, DX, RTTY, and don't feel I am dangerous.

If we can have a ham in a nursing home on the roster, I don't think I am
all that bad. :)

I don't think I am the enemy. They, in this case, are the two
legislators who have proposed potentially harmful legislation, not only
for amateur radio operators, but also for every police, fire, and EMS
company in the State, not to mention every GMRS, CB, and any other type
of user you can imagine. You state that I don't protect all hams (and
I'll agree that what I wrote can be read that way); I contend I am
protecting more than this bill. Again, the issue is the bill.

I have written way too much. From your emails, it sounds maybe like I
have not made a friend. I am truly sorry for that. I again offer my
apologies for any offense.

Let me know how more I can help.
