Speaker: Roger Edwards, SPC
Talk: Svr Wx Preps for large venues
Roger will share his views and comments on what large venue management
should consider for preparations for severe weather. It's not hard to
imagine a scenario here in Oklahoma -- severe spring storms or tornadoes
-- or severe weather occurring anytime of the year -- proms, school
functions, graduations, conventions, large meetings, outdoor or indoor
sporting events...even just an ordinary weekend at the shopping mall --
are these facilities equipped to handle a severe weather event occurring
in their immediate vicinity with large numbers of people in attendance?
Have facility management teams, or event organizers, considered weather
risk management for customers, attendees, and the general public at
their location/event? Are the current plans in place, if there is a
plan in place, enough to ward off disaster?
