I was on the 60 meter net last night. Signals were weak - readable.
The net manager encourages participation from OK.
The reflector for the net is at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/60Meters_EmCom/
and a short synopsis of the net is
" The Mid-Atlantic Emergency Net meets on 5330.5 USB at 0200 hours
Eastern Time on every first and third Wednesday of the month."
Of course this is right in the middle of church time for me, so I can't
participate every week.
They use this reporting guide as a measure of signal quality:
CM5 Means Completely clear, "broadcast quality" with no noise, rarely
observed on SSB unless conditions are superb.
CM4 Means Full copy with slight noise typical of SSB under very good
conditions.
CM3 Means Bulk of transmissions are understood through noise, but
occasional fills may be needed, at the margin of acceptable voice
communications.
CM2 Means that copy is Difficult, frequent fills required, not reliable
for communications. Noise, and static very close to the audio signal
level.
CM1 Means that a Signal is barely evident, words unintelligible,
unusable for voice communications.
CM0 Means that Absolutely no signal is detectable.
Let me know how more I can help.
