[ARRL-OK] KEEP THE CODE? Not!

Hi Coy,
I just want to say that I am not against the code, I just think of it as
simply another mode in todays ham radio repertoire of available ways of
communicating. I therefore believe that it should no longer be a test one
should have to take to become a ham. I feel the written should be expanded
to include more relevant questions pertaining to the proper operations,
technical and regulations of ham radio.
What we're interested in is operators that can perform the task of
communications. With this said, then we should test people on how well
they know what they can and should not do.
As I said before, Morse code testing now is as relevant as forcing someone
to take a typing speed test for packet radio. It's simply a mode. So is
CW. I don't think it's important if someone knows the code if they have no
desire to use it. The most important thing is, can they use the modes they
want to use in the illegal and best way possible.
