Hello Coy;

"KEEP THE CODE TESTING"

With that said, I believe its already a done deal, get
rid of the code. It is just one more step the league
will take to lower the standards. Like I have said before
lower standards, more members, more money, and the hell
with Amateur Radio.
How long will it be before the ARRL decides it will be
best if we don't even call it Amateur Radio?

ARRL WEST GULF DIVISION CONVENTION

ELIMINATION OF MORSE CODE
Once again the question comes up of the elimination of Morse code
testing for an HF license. With the elimination of A.25 as treaty
requirement, the question comes up of "What will the FCC do now?

They may very well propose the elimination of Morse testing. If that
were to happen the ARRL would make input upon notice of a proposed rule
making. The ARRL is likely going to deal with this issue in some
fashion this coming weekend at the summer board meeting.

I would like to here from you if you have strong feelings on this
subject one way or the other. How do you think the ARRL should respond
to such a proposal?

Please e-mail your comments to me at [email protected].

Thanks.
