Many clubs are having Christmas dinners now.  Want to encourage your support=

and enjoyment of these activities.  Thanks to the Southern OK ARES group for=

hosting the SM and Jim Richardson-N5OHL Section Affiliated Club Coordinator=20=

their dinner on Thursday, December 4.  Great Amateur Radio activitites are=20
happening in Ardmore!=20

Below is a description of the Balloon launch schedule for this Saturday as=20
well as the Skywarn Recognition Day activities. 73, John-WB5SYT

Balloon Launch Time & Skywarn Appreciation Day!

On this Saturday, December 6 two balloons are set to set launched at 9:00 am=
=20
CST from Norman and Tulsa. =A0The Tulsa balloon is KC5TRB-4 and the Norman=20
balloon is AD5GT-11.=A0 The balloons are being operated by Harry-Oklahoma Re=
search=20
Balloons and John-Deployed Amateur Radio Technology, respectively.=20

Also this Saturday is 2003 Skywarn Recognition Day at the National Weather=20
Offices throughout the nation including Tulsa & Norman <A HREF=3D"http://www=
.crh.noaa.gov/hamradio/">http://
www.crh.noaa.gov/hamradio/</A>
All day Amateur Radio activity is planned at the Tulsa National Weather=20
Service office. Also, =A0 a 12 noon HF net and demonstration will be held at=
 the=20
Tulsa American Red Cross. =A0 The Tulsa Red Cross office and the Tulsa NWS a=
re=20
located at 11th & 169.

Expectations are that balloons will reach heights of 45,000 feet, or more.=20=
=A0=20
Payload will be less than 4 pounds. Each balloon will be equipped with APRS=20
for tracking. =A0 The goal is for the balloons to complete an=20
Earth-Balloon-Balloon-Earth communication contact via Amateur Radio. Both la=
unch sites are at the=20
National Weather Service sites...seems natural doesn't it.=20
