[ARRL-OK] TULSA FIRE UPDATE

3 to 4 homes near AIRGAS burned and one business, SHEA's Appliance store was
destroyed by fire when a one or more of the exploding gas tanked landed on
the business, located 100 yards to the east of AIRGAS.   The amazing part of
the emergency, there were no major injuries, or any deaths.

At about 2030hrs 8/18/03, Tulsa FIRE Dept. gained control of the main fire
and all the adjacent housed and business.   The evacuation zone was pulled
in tighter around AIRGAS.

With in the hour the major emergency was stepped down and the Amateurs were
released for their duties.   A fast response from the volunteers that were
there to make sure communication could be maintained...when all else
fails....
