I need to re-linearize the tuning range on each band. I have tried to understand the method as described in manual for Coils # L-1 through L-10. I experimented with 80 meters. I first allowed about 15 KHz (excess tuning range at low end) away from PTO stop at band lower edge, with dial setting at 3.500 Mhz then adjusted the bottom slug for zero beat by feeding in a 3.500 Mhz signal. Then, I set dial at 4.000 Mhz and fed in a 4.000 Mhz signal and next adjusted the top 80 meter slug for zero beat. I repeated this back/forth maybe 6 times or so and got the 3.500/4.000 points to hit right at zero. Then, I checked each 100 KHz point. Some were off a little, the worst about 5 KHz. I repeated this same process for 40 meters, but the individual 100 KHz points were off more than on 80 meters. So, I thought I would ask if anyone here has a recommendation on adjusting these coils? Possibly where you choose the lower point (in regards to PTO shaft position) may be the key? Thanks, Byron WA5THJ. Does anyone know of a good source for this? Thanks, Byron WA5THJ
