I am planning on bring my world famous one wavelength two meter antenna for it's third appearance at AReU meetings. I will have my miniVNA to test it with. I should also have some of my LED collection. It's time for another fine AReU meeting, January 3, 2017 we will meet at our usual place es at our usual time. Be a part of the best technical HAM club hereabouts, a place to meet with fellow HAMs to share experiences, get help from more seasoned HAMs about everything from operating, equipment es to get help with your repair problems. (with no demands upon you es no pressure or red tape of any color es no commitment) So remember: 01-03-17 NEXT Tuesday is our next monthly AReU meeting day. REGULAR PLACE Bell Shoals Baptist, Church building "C" REGULAR TIME 7 pm RC, 7:30 meeting begins, if any BTW: Everyone is encouraged to post any HAM related questions that you or your friends have right here any time in the month. You can ask for any help that you might need. That is what this reflector is here for, that es these meeting notices. It has come to my attention that the North door is no longer a path to our meeting room, please walk around the corner to the right, to the West side of this building es enter through the kitchen door. (closest to the sports complex next door es it's parking lot) So join us at the Bell Shoals Baptist church building "C" in South Brandon at 7 for RC or 7:30 for the program, when we have one. What I am looking for is someone I can bounce questions off of and maybe hang out with who has experience in this area as well as learn about the safety aspects of staying alive while working?with the high voltage amps that can kill you if you are not careful. I am a 55 year old adult.? Thanks for any help or referrals you can offer. Dan Conway ps I have moderate soldering skills (I have built a pair of speakers including the crossovers and small SS amp. I did not gather from your note that you were a ham radio operator. So far all of us are ham radio operators but "electronic questions are electronic questions" and if you have them we will help. In case you didn't know, amateur radio operators are licensed by the Federal Communications Commission and are required to pass several tests to obtain their license, The meetings are informal and several topics may be discussed simultaneously. We have a great time and enjoy topics about all types of electronic devices. Most of us are "old timers" that grew up in the vacuum tube era are are well seasoned in dealing with high voltages. We will be happy to answer your questions and provide support for your project to the best of our ability. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at the Bell Shoals Baptist Church. Directions are given in the monthly AREU meeting notice. If you have questions please address them to the AREU reflector or my personal E-Mail address below. . w4tas at gte.net Tony -----Original Message----- From: Dan Conway via AReU To: areu Sent: Wed, Jan 4, 2017 1:41 pm Subject: [AReU] New member questions Hello everyone my name is Dan Conway I live in Plant City and have recently got into building my own speakers and amps. I enjoyed reading the following again: (Wiki is easy reading) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_radio_net https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Traffic_System https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARRL_Radiogram -- Ron KA4INM - Youvan's corollary: Every action results in unwanted side effects.
