I have just run into two HF frequencies that are more or less local, one is local to the Plant City, Valrico es Brandon area, it is: 28,4150 kHz/s. It is not busy, but I keep hearing local traffic on this frequency, including OMs that I know. The other is a frequency used by a good number of Florida HAMs. It is 7230 kHz/s. It is generally busier in the morning that it is in the afternoon,* but I was given a S9 when I was running 50 Watts with a 9' wire es a 9' wire on the ground as a counterpoise by all 3 HAMs, one outside of Leesburg es one each in Ft. Lauderdale es St. Austine. (using SSB) (I was operating with the 9' wire hanging over the edge of Tampa bay) * populated mostly with nice retired folk, like me. Just rag chewing!
