Message-ID: Look at this web site on E-Bay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?item=290998019463&_ssn=201388ming&rt=nc Go about 2/3 of the way down the first page to the WORKER BEE QRP rig. Don?t stop at the first QRP rig (FROGS) but scroll on down to the second one. Might be worth being a club project for CW nets on 7.023 MHz. The first one is a knock off of the SOFT ROCK unit I believe but essentially does the same function. The SOFT ROCK knock off unit appears to be a lot more complicated to build so the WORKER BEE would probably meet with more success. I don?t have any idea of the characteristics of either unit but ?what the heck?!!!!! It?s only 12 bucks and several of hours of pure pleasure (I say that with ?tongue in cheek?) putting it together. It puts out 0.6 watts. It operates on 7.023 MHz crystal controlled but has a narrow tuning range. Any comments? Cute, three diodes, two transistors and one IC $12 + $5 shipping. We tried the "build yourself a transmitter" before and it went over like a lead balloon. (I still have the crystal {21.165 MHz} somewhere) Without a keyer I am sure I would not enjoy it. (Iambic) -- Ron KA4INM - Youvan's corollary: Every action results in unwanted side effects.
