[AReU]
June, 2013 meeting
Almost happy birthday America.
It's almost time for another fine AReU meeting: Next Tuesday

So remember:
07-02-13 NEXT Tuesday is our next monthly AReU meeting day.
REGULAR PLACE Bell Shoals Baptist, Church building "C"
REGULAR TIME 7 pm RC, 7:30 meeting begins
Be a part of the best technical HAM club hereabouts, a place to
meet with fellow HAMs to share experiences, get help from more seasoned
HAMs about everything from operating, equipment es to get help with your
repair problems.
(with no demands upon you es no pressure or red tape of any color)
begin quote:
I have been on a quest to better equip myself for some microwave testing.
Even though I have been working on the kitchen counter, I have managed
to do quite a bit of interesting work. The shop is still a mess and I have
not had the heart to take on the clean up totally but I am working on it
a little bit
at a time.
I have also obtained a few interesting pieces of test equipment that I
would like to show you guys.
I plan on bringing some of this newly acquired equipment for a
demonstration
at the next AREU meeting.
Some of the items are a Marconi frequency counter good to 26.5 GHz, HP432A
power meter good to 18 GHz, HP436A power meter good to 18 GHz, TPI
synthesized
signal generator good to 4.5 GHz with calibrated attenuator (works from
USB port on
laptop), various attenuators for use to accurately measure high power
equipment and a couple of transceivers for the 10 GHz ham band.
I will set them up and we will measure parameters such as frequency and
power
output. The operating frequency will be around 10365.1 MHz.
I have more stuff but enough is enough. I will cover the other equipment in
later meetings.
Hope to see you guys at AREU!!!! Tony W4TAS
end quote
BTW: Everyone is encouraged to post any HAM related questions that you
or your friends have right here any time in the month. That is what this
reflector is for, that es these meeting notices.
So join us at the Bell Shoals Baptist church building "C" in South
Brandon at 7 for RC or 7:30 for the program, when we have one.
ARe U going? Talk in is on 147.165 MHz + offset
