[AReU] Sorry for the "wipe out".

As usual, other things intervened to prevent me from attending the meeting tonight.
I sincerely apologize for that as I was very much looking forward to visiting with my
AREU friends. I have a lot of electronics “business” to discuss with you folks.
It’s going to take more that one meeting to catch back up.
Even though I have not had my shop active for about 5 years, I am still experimenting
with DSP radios. I have purchased a FunCube Dongle Pro lately and am trying to
become competent using it. It receives from 50 MHz to 2 GHz and is the size
of a thumb drive with a SMA connector on the end. I just purchased from WIMO a
conversion module that covers from 0 Hz to 54 MHz that attaches to the FunCube
Dongle. It is truly an amazing piece of equipment.

I am particularly disappointed that I missed meeting with George and Bill. I am going
to have a big load lifted from me when the repeater is working well again. I also
wanted to ask George about the “magic” formula to have fairly easy access to the
repeater site. Maybe he could get with me on the phone or E-Mail and discuss
possible plans to schedule a repair expedition.

My absence involved health concerns with Alma (KC4ZZK), my mother-in-law.
She had her pacemaker battery changed about a week and a half
ago and was having problem with weakness and dizziness. I am not too concerned
about it but you never know when things will go wrong. I felt I should be around
if she needed me. I made an appointment with her doctor in the morning and I feel
sure we can get the problems ironed out.

Mike, I hope you and Jacob enjoy the meeting and that you and he will become
regular attendees. I am looking forward to seeing you guys and find out what
activities you are up to. Maybe we will try it again on the 23 cm band. I still have
some equipment that can be “brought up to speed”.

73 to all,

Tony
