March, 2011 [AReU]
We looked into Bob WB4AKAs poor-operative (on 2 meters) Comet tri-band base station antenna. All
5 capacitors measure near the same even though they are factory marked differently. I Ron KA4INM
presented the unscheduled part four of "How antennas (in general) work," an extemporaneous
presentation, a fascinating general discussion about BALUNS followed.

January, 2011 [AReU]
I Ron KA4INM presented part three of "How antennas (in general) work," an extemporaneous
presentation. I left out one important point, which I will cover as part 4 next month, but then we
will discuss RF matching, BALUNS and transformers and other matching gismo's. The unusual antennas
discussed came from websites and patents which shall be sent to you under separate cover.

December, 2010 [AReU]
My meeting notice said 8th instead of the 7th. I Ron KA4INM presented part two of my 'How
antennas work" conversation. George KE4VDJ asked several question, he looked unsure if his
questions were wanted, "ask" are what we were there to do, AReU is an opportunity to discuss
technical topics and ask any questions that come to mind.

November, 2010 [AReU]
Because of the elections (our talk) and the time we spent curing George KE4VDJ's HF transceiver's
dead pre-amp problem, he was quite pleased by the way, so the antenna discussion was postponed until
next month.

October, 2010: [AReU]
We experimented with an old open frame 1:1 transformer changing the number of turns of a
temporary low voltage secondary winding. (for tube filaments) I Ron KA4INM presented part one of
his "How antennas (in general) work," an extemporaneous presentation.
