Today they were finally able to scope Fred's lungs.   They found some scratches in his left lung made by pneumonia.  In the right lung, they found an area that is bleeding.  They did some biopsies in this area.  They also did a salt water wash of the lungs.  From the biopsies and the wash they hope to determine if we are dealing with a bacteria, an infection, or possibly cancer.  It will be a couple of days before we have the results.  If the bleeding continues, more surgery will be required.
