I bought a brand new Yaesu FT-7800R dual band mobile radio.
I noticed the mic cord is attaches to the radio via a square plastic connector with a locking latch on the side which looks a lot like a standard telephone jack, but the Yaesu mic cord has six conductors, NOT the telltale four conductors found on a telephone jack.
My RF-45 computer cable connector looks very similar, but it sports EIGHT conductors.
Since my idea of fun is making radios perform tasks they were never intended to do, could anyone please advise:
(1) What is the six conductor male connector called?
(2) And where can I buy one?
