[AReU] BARS VHF Repeater

The VHF repeater is now back on the air. Apparently the bug spray man had
sprayed the
room and accidently knocked a plug out of it's socket. It was a control and
power cable
to the repeater/controller interface board. That effectively shut down the 2
meter repeater
and the link receiver.

The UHF repeater was not affected.

I was ready for the worst and had plenty of spare parts with me just in
case.

I tweaked the tuning on both repeaters but found them pretty much "right
on".
I don't think anyone will notice a difference in the performance of either
repeater.

I did fine that the back up batteries were shot. They will need to be
replaced. Right
now they will not back up the transmitter for over 10 seconds. That's not
much time.
This will not affect the normal operation of the repeater. I will get some
batteries
and will schedule a return trip for installation.

I noticed that there was not much activity on the UHF repeater during the
VHF
repeater outage (try zero). That was a disappointment!
If you have UHF equipment please use it occasionally. We share the UHF band
with government services and we need to keep it active. UHF FM is the
easiest
way to get on the band (small antennas, ready made equipment that is
relatively
cheap). Lets see if we can toast the final on the old UHF repeater so that
we
can install a larger one (it's in my garage).
