[AReU] I've been out of touch

As some of you have noticed I have been absent on the repeater for a couple
of weeks.

I have been in the process of changing cars as "little red" finally did not 
meet
the reliability standards of a car for driving long distances every day. It 
was in
need of more maintenance and it was just not worth it. I will really miss 
that
little red car. I have been driving it for about 11 years now.

I have been out car shopping for the last few days and have not had the time
to check into the nets either. I am glad to hear from Bob (WB4AKA) that
the 6 and 10 meter nets were well attended this week.

I now have my wife's Saturn and she has a new Honda. I will be installing
the radios in the Saturn very soon.

In the mean time, I hope everyone is planning on being at the TARC club
house this Saturday for the second TARC/BARS picnic. I will be there
with some 10 GHz gear for show and tell and also my 5 watt 1.3 GHz rig.

The last TARC/BARS picnic was well attended and we had a great time.
We had an AO40 satellite station set up and, although we didn't have a good
pass for contacts, we monitored the beacon for several hours and tried out
different types of down-link antennas.

The food was great as was the folks that attended.
