I just received word today from Mike (W4UOO) that he will bring the
famous PSK31 demonstration to AREU this month. If you missed it
last time, this will be a great time to "catch up". The demonstration
consists
of two computers that talk to each other via PSK 31 and a projector
to clearly show the screens that you will be using. The demo was a great
success last time and generated a lot of interest in the digital modes
including
SSTV.

Rod (KC4MMR) has purchased a filter board that costs less that I paid
for the capacitors and torroid cores for my "home brew" unit.
It is complete with with a switch and covers 160 meters. All that is needed
is to mount it in a box. If I can pick up the filter from him or he can
bring
it to the meeting, I will put the filter on the spectrum analyzer and take a
look at the performance. I will also bring a video camera and hook it up
to Mikes projector to see if we can display the analyzers output on the
big screen.

The Amateur Radio Electronics Union meetings are held on the first
Tuesday of every month at the Bell Shoals Baptist Church. The meeting
room in on the North end of the church complex on Overhill Rd. The
bull session starts at 7:00 pm with the demonstration starting at 7:30 pm
(more or less).

There are no dues, no officers, no hassle, just good ham fun. Come and go
as you like.

Hope to see you all there,
