Next Tuesday, March 07,2006, will be the next meeting of AREU at the Bell
Shoals Baptist Church.
The social session starts at 7:00 PM with the presentations starting around
7:30 PM.
I think Ron (KA4INM ) will be talking about how to prevent your aluminum
antenna from
corroding in the weather. This is extremly important here in Florida with
the high humidity
and temperature extremes.
I'm sure Ron will have plenty of helpful information.
I have completed the modifications of the small amplifier I got from Rod
(KC4MMR).
It was of the CB variety but it turned out to be a fairly good amplifier
from 80 to 10 meters.
It required a filter for spectral purity and I just finished building it
tonight. The amplifier
also needed several modifications to make it "linear" and a feed back
circuit to equalize
the gain over the 80 to 10 meter frequencies. I have been working on the
amplifier and
filter for a couple of weeks and it has been a great learning experience.
After Ron shows us how to protect our antennas, I will show you the "before
filter" and
"after filter" charactistics of the amplifier.
You will be amazed!!!
If you need "talk in" get on the Brandon VHF repeater on 147.165 MHz (+)
with a 136.5 Hz
tone.
Hope to see you at AREU.

Tony
