[AReU] AREU Meeting Tomorrow

The monthly AREU meeting will be held tomorrow at the Bell Shoals 
Baptist Church. Social half hour is from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm with the 
meeting starting shortly thereafter. Ron (KA4INM) is very knowledgeable 
about lighting behavior and will offer a talk on this subject. This is not 
the first time Ron has spoken on this topic but every time I seem to 
learn something new. His work with large television towers has given 
him a unique opportunity to explore the effects of lightening in the 
"lightning capital of the continental US". Yes, that's right. We are right 
smack in the middle of it if you didn't know. 

I'm sure Ron will give you some helpful hints on preventing lightning 
damage to your station or at least minimizing it in case of a strike. 

I'm sure someone else will show up with some interesting goodies from 
the hamfest this weekend to show and tell. 

As usual someone will be available to help direct you to the meeting 
place should you need it. The BARS repeater will be monitored before 
and during the meeting. The BARS repeater is on 147.165 (+) and 
you will need a 136.5 Hz tone to access the machine.
