Subject: [Cars Mlist] FREE Amateur Radio Testing Comes To Clearwater
Exciting things that are happening at CARS in 2005. If you missed the January meeting or haven't visited our web site, you missed the following announcement:
Amateur Radio Testing
The Clearwater Amateur Radio Society is proud to announce, that due to the generosity and strong commitment to the ideals of amateur radio their members hold dear, their affiliation with the Laurel-VEC.
All exam sessions conducted by Laurel-VEC sponsored VE Teams are FREE and open to the public. You do not have to be a CARS member to participate.
Monthly testing sessions are held at the Salvation Army Facility, 1625 North Belcher Road Clearwater, next to The Long Center. Testing is on the second Monday of every month. Sessions begin at 7:15 P.M. and will end no later than 9:30 P.M.
Please bring a photo ID, your original and 1 (one) copy of your license, any certificates of successful completion (CSCEs) or other document that you will using to show element credit. Scratch paper, pens, and pencils will be provided.
You may bring a calculator. However, if you bring your own calculator and it is a programmable calculator it must be unprogrammed. In other words, the memory must be cleared. Blackberries, Palm Pilots, or other devices that have a calculator function are never permitted.
Retesting at the same session is at the discretion of the VE Team. The team will make their decision based on several factors which include but are not limited to the time and test materials available, the number of applicants being processed, the number of VE's available and how badly you failed the previous exam.
Upcoming Test dates for 2005 are, Feb 14, Mar 14, Apr 11, May 9, Jun 13, Jul 11, Aug 8, Sep 12, Oct 10, Nov 14, and Dec 12.
