[AReU] Recap of meeting - 8/2/2005

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the delay but I had some personal catastrophes that
got in the way.

AReU meeting for August 2, 2005

The meeting was very informative.  Tony, W4TAS, had an HP
Spectrum analyzer at the meeting and did some practical show and
tell on how it worked.  He had a few side band filters from ED,
W7LGD, which he checked out.  The display proved very
informative about the performance on the particular filters.  He
was also able to lay rest to parts that were bad.  This is a
great instrument for cleaning out the good versus the bad from
your spare parts box.  

He also put a small duplexer on the analyzer and demonstrated
the type of filtering that a device like that preforms.

Bobbie, KA4ZAF, and Misty, NV1F, had a good side conversation on
the finer points of raising chickens.  Which just goes to show
you the broad range of topics that come up at one of these
meetings!
