    Next Saturday is the time,
     Davis Park is the place
     for the BARS fall picnic.

Lots of food, fun and jaw boning with great folks are the
                        rewards for attending.

We hope to have some scouts there but I have not heard
from anyone about this yet. The picnic has been scheduled
to coincide with the Jamboree on the Air that is sponsored
by the scouts to promote interest in amateur radio.

We will have at least two stations at the picnic. I will have my
Elecraft K2 and my Yaesu FT100 with antenna tuners and
doublet antennas. The K2 will be battery powered but I am
hoping someone will bring a small generator for the FT100.
If not, I will use one of my larger battery packs and turn the
power down on the FT100 for longer battery life.

The club will supply hamburgers, hot dogs and all the trimmings.
Chips and cold drinks will also be supplied. If you wish you can
bring a covered dish of your choosing but this is optional.

Being that the weather is so nice lately, I expect a large turn out.
I can remember the Spring picnic of this year being very pleasant
and the most enjoyable in recent memory.

You don't need to be a member and if you have not "re-upped"
your membership this year, this will be a good time to do so.

I am looking forward to seeing plenty of smiling faces next Saturday.
Nothing could be more rewarding.
