The monthly BARS meeting was this evening and all who attended
seemed to enjoy themselves. We had a demonstration of HDTV by
Dave N4DLW which was unexpected but certainly interesting. Ol Tom
did not show with the coffee and donuts so a few of us went down to
the old reliable Dunkin Donut shop to get some coffee and a snack.

The BARS spring picnic was scheduled for April 17, 2004.This is the
same day as the TARC fest but we will be serving lunch at 1:00 PM
instead of the normal noon. This should allow all of the folks that
participated in the TARC fest to make it to Davis Park in Brandon
in time to get some burgers and hot dogs. Any and all are welcome
to attend. We have yet to turn anyone away or run out of food.

We also discussed this years Field Day which will take place on 26/27
June, 2004. This will also be at Davis Park in Brandon. We need
some volunteers to be leaders of various committees. These committes are
Overall Field Day , HF CW station, HF PHONE station, food and GOTA station .
Each of the various station chairmen will schedule operators for the 24 hour
Field Day period , schedule equipment and antennas for the respective
station, and see that the equipment is installed and powered up by the
official start of Field Day operations. I will see to the VHF, UHF and
ATV stations but I would appreciate some help with this. I will also
purchase the food and do some of the cooking. I would appreciate
someone to help with the cooking and set up of the tables and feeding
arrangement for the Saturday picnic.
